S. Marletta starts dancing on 2002 continuing his ballet education through masterclasses in IT and abroad (F. Grieco, P. Lewis, E. Mota, R. Streiner, etc.).
On 2007 he undertakes a contemporary dance training first at Compagnia Motomimetico-A.D. E. Scialfa, and at Compagnia Zappalà Danza-A.D. R. Zappalà (Catania 2007/2009), then at London Contemporary Dance School and Danceworks, (London 2011), and at Arsenale della Danza-AD I. Ivo (Venice 2012), where he experiences different dance vocabularies working closely with many choreographers (A. Borriello, F. Harper, Ko Murobushi, P. Klunchun, Y. Pick, I. Essien, etc.).
Meanwhile he follows theatrical masterclasses (A. Gatti, F. Mari). Over time he keeps taking workshops across Europe (e.g. ‘Limon technique’, S. Pelton; ‘Forsythe technique’, B. Labrenz/The Forsythe Company; ‘Cunningham technique’, D. Montagna; ‘Nikolais technique’, C. Carlson, etc.), recently being invited by Tanztheater Wuppertal P. Bausch to join the company’s training. Throughout his career he performs at Teatro Antico di Taormina, Teatro Greco di Siracusa, Teatro Massimo Bellini di Catania, Teatro Comunale di Bologna, Teatro alle Tese in Venice, Teatro P. Autran in S. Paulo do Brasil, etc., both as terpsichorean in operas and dancer in ensembles (Motomimetico, Le Supplici, Poiesis), working with various choreographers (F. Favale, E. Gat, M. van Hoecke, I. Ivo, etc.), and visual artists (S. Neshat).
